Bathurst winners 1/43 - stop collection?

Post by nath » Sat Sep 18, 2021 2:53 pm

Are there any 1/43 Bathurst winner collectors still on this forum ... just wondering if you'll continue with your collection each year or plan to stop at some stage?

If you have stopped, what year did you stop at?

If i do stop i'm tossing up:

2017 - final VF vs FG X
2018 - final FG X
2019 - first Mustang win
2021 - potentially final Commodore (ZB) Bathurst appearance - although not Australian built model so doesn't hold much sentimental value to me.

Also, where did everyone from the Biante Forum migrate to?
Has all that history and knowledge from the forum gone for good?

I’d have to agree this forum is just waiting for someone to put the lid on the coffin. I’d had many 1/18s for sale, and decided to remove them because I haven’t had an enquiry for 4 years. I’ve sold more on gumtree. I think most people have gone to faceache. I’m just not interested in that forum, which in my opinion is a garbage site. This was a good site and the BSS was much better than the Biante BSS. Cheers

Hi Nath,
I am a 1/43 collector, but have somewhat lapsed in the last few years - the loss of interest partly due to lack of new Australian product and the change to higher priced resin models, which I’m not a great fan of, as well as declining interest in the ATCC series.

Part of my collection is Bathurst winner (and podiums/poles) and ATCC winners (and podiums). To answer your question, I decided to draw the line at the end of Australian vehicles I.e. no ZB Commodores, and no Mustangs. So my last full podiums are from 2017, and the last model is the 2018 McLaughlin FGX which doubles as ATCC winner and Bathurst podium car.

Cheers
