IT is Time either CC or Biante produced a "Proper" 1986 VK

IT is time that either Biante or CC produce a Proper '86 Bathurst VK Group A Brock / Moffat Commodore.

This is what confuses me :

CC could produce the "Chickadee" '86 Bathurst Group A VK with the right front spoiler etc. ( SO they had the right mould )

They then produced what they advertised as a '86 Brock / Moffat VK Group A - Yet something was missing >>> The Front spoiler !!?? They had used the normal VK bumper bar ( only painted as the '86 VK should have been )

( SO basically they used the '85 VK mould - added the Rear Spoiler - BUT totally forgot the front Spoiler ?? AT least they remembered the Grill !!

Then they produced the number 3 Harvey '86 Group A & it had the right front spoiler ??? ( Well they made the sides of the front spoiler look like there was an "added" part to the bumper bar

Neither Biante or CC have actually produced a Proper Brock / Moffat '86 Bathurst VK Group A Commodore.

I had 2 of the CC '86 diecasts pre-ordered >> But quickly cancelled them as soon as they arrived in store & I could see how much CC had stuffed up.

Lets put it this way >> I knew the VK Commodore inside and out >> I had owned a V8 VK & was probably the first person in NSW to buy from HDT in Melbourne a VK Group A Front Spoiler, Rear Spoiler & Grill for my Car. ( Photo's of the Group A had only just been released to the press when I placed my order for a set for my Road Car ) - [ I only just thought, I probably had my spoilers fitted & painted etc way before the 500th Car left HDT !! ] I had them fitted - Had that car up until a 4WD decided my car was too long !!! Then I bought a real Brock V8 VK Commodore & I had another set of spoilers fitted >> I also went to all the Races in NSW at the time ( Amaroo, Oran Park etc ) So I knew exactly how the VK's should have looked. I helped fit the second set, I had a mate who was a panel beater by trade & he fitted them properly with glue etc for me - then painted them in 2pak.

I do realise that CC lost a lot of their moulds when the factory they used closed or went into recession or whatever - But these people produce these, expecting us to pay good money for them - then they should be done right. I see these '86 Bathurst VK's on ebay these days and see people asking over $300 for them ???? CC should have recalled them - They must have known they were wrong.

Hey Mate I employed a little bit of self help with the 1986 Brock Moffat Mobil HDT VK which involved the Harvey Lowe team car of the same year also released by Classics

Nice Job ::

Was it hard to do ? But an expensive exercise to use 2 Diecasts to make 1 Proper Brock Car !!!

I Just don't get why CC or Biante can't do a Proper version - It's one that is missing ::

( Though, CC would then have to admit they made a Mistake with their original release !!! )

I also corrected my Brock Moffat VK.. it meant buying a second Harvey Lowe car as parts donor but I was able to sell it off to someone who didn't mind it having the wrong bumper..

I would say there was a part mix up in the factory which would have been way too expensive for CC to correct after the batch had been completed so they bit the bullet and released it anyway.

That is purely a guess mind due..
